The award was\ngiven to US scientists William Kaelin and Gregg Semenza and the\nbritish Peter Ratcliffe. They will also share the prize of nine\nmillion swedish krona (832.523 \u20ac).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Medical\nJournal, the Nobel Committee explained that the three scientists were\nable to &#8220;identify the molecolar machinery that regulates gene\nactivity in response to oxygen variations.
