{"id":869,"date":"2020-09-02T11:50:25","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T11:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dentalpro.pt\/en\/?p=869"},"modified":"2020-09-02T11:50:26","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T11:50:26","slug":"portuguese-stomatologist-creates-european-database-of-surgical-interventions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dentalpro.pt\/en\/2020\/09\/02\/portuguese-stomatologist-creates-european-database-of-surgical-interventions\/","title":{"rendered":"Portuguese stomatologist creates European database of surgical interventions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Portuguese stomatologist David \u00c2ngelo is building a database that will register all surgical interventions on temporomandibular joints conducted in Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving \u201cPr\u00e9mio de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o 2019\u201d from S.O.R.G. &#8211; Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group, a prestigious European scientific community promoting clinical research &#8211; David \u00c2ngelo was funded by the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons (ESTMJS) and started, in 2020, to design an IT platform that will register diagnosis, interventions and post-surgery evolution of all patients within the European community, in a rigorous and easy to use fashion by the doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temporomandibular joint disorder is a debilitating pathology of the jaw muscles and\/or of the temporomandibular joint (the area where the jaw shares a joint with the skull bone), most common among women between the ages of 20 and 50 years old.
