Rafaela Santana and Miguel Mendes, together in both life and business, are the faces behind THELAB, a laboratory with two decades of history which recently joined the YTRIO Network. The couple explained in an interview that the principle behind building THELAB “was to have a high quality laboratory with the best and most modern technologies on the market, and diverse and qualified technicians, in order to provide the best results”.

What is THELAB’s Story?

Our laboratory has more than 20 years of experience in the market, meaning that it has undergone various phases throughout its history, including different partners and visions, until 2016, when we decided to commit solely our personal ideas. In fact, the new THELAB YTRIO, the project we see today, started on the 1^st of January 2019, when it was just the two of us who ran the laboratory. The principle behind the construction of THELAB was to have a high quality laboratory with the best and most modern technologies on the market, and diverse and qualified technicians, in order to provide the best results. Our goal is to provide excellence to our clients and partners.

Why Did You Join the YTRIO Network? 

The YTRIO Group is an independent group of 11 dental laboratories found all across the Iberian Peninsula. We always strive to offer our clients the best and we felt that the YTRIO Group was the element we needed to achieve this. The group’s know-how in digital streaming is astronomical and includes constant group training which provides us with a wealth of knowledge and allows us maximise the quality of our final product. THELAB officially joined the YTRIO group on the 1^st of September 2022. Before it was made official, we had a few months to prepare to merge. Our integration is a significant milestone for us and the YTRIO group, as we are its first international laboratory. It is source of enormous pride and honour for us, but we also understand the weight of the responsibility we have on our shoulders! Without any doubt, YTRIO is “the element that makes you stand out”.
