In the market since 2008, Utrade – Dental Treatment Units, aims to “help make the dreams come true” of its customers. António Sousa, CEO of the company, opened his “home” to us and told us the story of Utrade, whose success is based on trust and product quality: “Today we can say that Utrade represents and distributes the best device brands doctors, who guarantee quality and durability”, he says.
How and when was Utrade born? What is your story?
Utrade was born from my friendship with Antoni Carles, one of the best manufacturers of dental units in Europe. At the time, it was important to continue distributing the Ancar brand throughout the country and it was in this context that in 2008 I founded Utrade, whose name is precisely associated with dental treatment units. There are 15 years of the company’s history, but the truth is that I am already a senior in connection with the dental market, which I started in the “distant” year of 1978. These 45 years have allowed me to experience great moments in dentistry and also many disappointments, but above all, create bonds of friendship with the majority of customers. For this reason, at Utrade we use an inspiring phrase that reflects the general feeling of all employees: “everything is a question of trust!”
What are your main values?
The trust that we try to establish with our customers every day. We know that the market is highly competitive, but we also know that the barometer that measures pressure, in this case commercial, is not just financial. We cannot go by price, but by the quality of the products we sell and the services we provide. Nowadays, market positioning matters. There is eight and 80, as they say in the slang, but the important thing is to be able to establish a parallel between quality, price and service. This is what we have always set out to do at Utrade.
How do you describe the Portuguese dental medicine market?
The Portuguese dental medicine market is highly competitive, but if we work with honesty and focus on the customer, our road will have fewer curves and the future will be favorable. At Utrade we don’t just sell. We constantly monitor our customers, with services they need and, therefore, today’s sale normally goes into a new sale tomorrow.
