Susana Costa is responsible for the dentistry area at Carl Zeiss Meditec Portugal. In a conversation with DentalPro, she talks about her connection to the brand and the need for the multinational to be directly present in the dental market.

Who is Susana Almeida Costa?
I’m from Porto and have a degree in Biotechnology. Since 2018, my professional career has been focused on medical equipment in the dentistry field.
How did you get involved with Zeiss? And what aspects of this connection do you highlight?
In June 2023, I was invited to join Carl Zeiss Meditec as head of the dentistry department in Portugal. The highlights are the combined essential, technical, and leadership skills that I can count on every day from my team.

Zeiss now has an area dedicated to dentistry. Why did this need arise?
We want to be closer to Portuguese dentists. Zeiss wants to strengthen its presence in Portugal with the direct distribution of all medical technology services. This is a strategic step that is part of an ambitious growth plan in the country and demonstrates a solid commitment to the potential of the Portuguese market. This move will allow Zeiss to be closer to dentists with a more agile and competitive service. Healthcare professionals will be able to have a direct relationship with the company’s specialists, which will allow us to offer more flexible and personalized solutions. We want to become a strategic partner and accompany Portuguese dentists even more closely in the evolution of their professional activity.
