Rodrigo Cavaco is a dentist who works in oral rehabilitation and surgery, using precision equipment such as loupes and microscopes. In a brief interview, he talks about his career and his connection with ZEISS, particularly in the acquisition of this equipment. The dentist reveals that ‘ZEISS is the ideal strategic partner with the quality it brings to its equipment, as well as the after-sales service’, emphasising that he currently can’t conceive of ‘excellent dentistry without the use of loupes or microscopes, especially in the area of endodontics’.
Who is Rodrigo Cavaco? Tell us about your academic and professional career.
I was born in Lisbon in 1977. I did my normal schooling at public school. I studied dentistry at FMDUL and finished in 2001. After graduating, I worked in various clinics as a general dental practitioner and in 2007 I opened my own clinic and since then I’ve focused more on oral rehabilitation and surgery.
How did you become involved with ZEISS? And what points do you emphasise about this connection?
The connection with ZEISS began with contact with the brand at congresses and with the quality of its products. So it was only natural that, when the opportunity arose to buy some magnifiers, I chose ZEISS magnifiers. After acquiring this equipment, I bought an OPMI Pico Mora microscope and recently an OPMI PROergo.
I’ve always been fascinated by detail, and ZEISS is the ideal strategic partner with the quality it brings to its equipment, as well as its ever-present after-sales service. The clinic is equipped with ZEISS microscopes, which are essential for implementing a quality philosophy and are fundamental for documentation, as part of our strong commitment to training.
