Cassis Clay Wins Best Presentation Award at Innovation Box

The presentation, titled “Digital Dentistry: A Fully Predictable Path Already,” was based on the UNIX method, an approach developed by the dentist that integrates digital technology, functional planning, and precision to achieve highly predictable oral rehabilitations.

During the session, Cassis Clay demonstrated how the UNIX method stems from the accumulated experience of the OralPlan group and relies on five fundamental pillars: Vertical Dimension of Occlusion, Midline, Incisal Edge, Occlusal Plane, and Aesthetic References. Using proprietary devices and protocols such as UNIX Pro and UNIX Planner, the method “allows these anatomical and functional references to be accurately transferred to the digital environment, ensuring smooth communication between clinic and laboratory.”

The core concept of the presentation focused on how the full digitalization of clinical workflows allows synchronization between the clinic and the lab, reducing errors, working time, and uncertainties.

The specialist also emphasized “the importance of an integrated vision of dentistry, where the clinician, technician, and technology work in coordination to achieve predictable and excellent results. More than just a technical protocol, UNIX represents a work philosophy centered on full integration between the team, laboratory, and technology, promoting predictable outcomes and greater patient confidence.”

The Innovation Box at the OMD Congress has established itself as a key platform for sharing disruptive ideas and projects that drive Portuguese dentistry into the future. Awarding this prize to Dr. Cassis Clay reflects recognition of his contribution to the advancement of digital dentistry and his active role in disseminating scientific and technological knowledge in the sector.

The award received at the 34th OMD Congress reinforces the position of Cassis Oliveira and the UNIX brand as benchmarks in the evolution of digital dentistry in Portugal, consolidating the group’s purpose of sharing knowledge through the UNIX Academy, a training institute dedicated to preparing professionals for this new digital era.
