On June 10, the Spanish Association of Bioenterprises (AseBio) presented its AseBio 2025 Annual Report, which analyzes the current status and evolution of the biotechnology sector in Spain. The presentation event took place at the headquarters of the Official Association of Architects of Madrid (COAM), under the slogan: “Biotech Act: an opportunity for Spanish biotechnology.”
Among the data presented in the report, BTI Biotechnology Institute features once again, leading the list of Spanish companies with the highest scientific production, boasting 29 publications in high-impact scientific journals. It is followed by Reveal Genomics with 14 publications, and ProtoQSAR with 12.
The data gathered in the AseBio 2025 Report demonstrate, yet again, that the BTI Biotechnology Institute maintains one of the strongest commitments in the Spanish biotech sector toward research and development (R&D) and the generation of knowledge in the biomedical field.
The biotechnology company, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, thus reaches its 11th consecutive year as the number one company in scientific production among Spanish bio-companies. This sustained leadership reflects a trajectory built on research, innovation, and the transfer of knowledge into clinical practice.
According to Eduardo Anitua, Scientific Director of BTI:
“Surpassing a decade of scientific leadership among Spanish biotechnology companies is not just a number, but rather the consequence of a specific way of understanding innovation: researching constantly and rigorously, validating every advancement with scientific evidence, and transferring that knowledge into solutions with a real impact on clinical practice and people’s quality of life.”
