Lisbon will have 14 brand new health centres. Dental medicine is part of plans

Lisbon will have 14 brand new health centres which will host units that currently operate in poorly-maintained residential buildings. According to the newspaper Diário de Notícias, the investment is close to 30 million euros involving lands, projects, construction works and equipment, benefiting more than 305 thousand users.
“We want computerised health centres, open to new technologies, with x-ray equipment, physiotherapy practices, analysis and dentists. None of this would be feasible in these buildings. We want health centres with a more open organisation, alongside hospitals, municipalities, able to be part of the population’s routine”, Rosa Matos, president of the ARSLVT, says.
It is a plan that will last from three to five years, officially launched this week with the signing of the protocol between the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley (ARSLVT) and the City Council of Lisbon (CML).
