EME SAÚDE – Medical, Dental & Mental Health Clinic, founded in Porto by Ivandro Soares Monteiro, organized at the end of last year a Christmas gathering led by Tarantini, well-known soccer player and current captain of Rio Ave. On the table was the program “A Minha Causa”, created by the athlete himself.
Up to what age can a professional sportsman be in high competition? Are sportsmen truly prepared to end a career? How are the days after glory? And young people starting their careers will know how much it costs to make a dream come true? Thinking about the issues surrounding the present and the future of sportsmen, Ricardo Monteiro – known in the world of football as Tarantini – developed a project that focuses on the prevention and awareness of sportsmen for the management of careers.
“Minha Minha Causa” warns for the need to invest in academic training and the creation of projects parallel to the professional career, in order to prepare the new life that awaits them, the future after sport. For the player, who wants to leave his mark on the world, it is urgent to alert consciences, to show that the reality of football players is not just pink. Behind every personal victory there must be commitment, sacrifice, resilience, the notion that success requires hard work and talent alone is not enough.
