João Pimenta has just joined the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry (AcBO – Academia Brasileira de Odontologia), chaired by Mario Groisman. The Portuguese dentist will be sworn in as an Honorary Academic, thus becoming part of the AcBO Academic Board.
The solemn introduction session will be held on the 18th of November in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After receiving this news, João Pimenta wrote on his Facebook page that this is one of the happiest days of his professional life.
“The acknowledgement from this prestigious Academy fills me with pride (and a little bit of vanity, why not…) and is the result of a life dedicated to dental medicine, the defence of its dignity and values, often against some who, in a crude way, allowed and helped its degradation. (…) Thank you to all those who have supported me on this path, especially to my wife and children, and to the many colleagues who share this vision, perhaps romantic, of dental medicine”.
