ADL gathered at the OMD congress

Regular presence at the OMD congress, members of the Associação Dentária Lusófona (ADL) met again in this year’s edition. Moderated by dentists Pedro Pires, vice-president of the Association’s directing Council, and by Luís Vidal, from the OMD’s General Council, the ADL forum had as its motto the sharing of the various realities between the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP)

At the forum, which took place on the first day of the congress, on November 14th, each country presented the steps taken on the formative and professional appreciation of dentists.

The interconnection and interdependence between oral health and general health was also discussed. The relationship with diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular problems was addressed, as well as the need for the dentist to have broader medical knowledge for a comprehensive view of the profession. The participants in this meetings sought, through the account of their experiences, to contribute to greater health promotion and development in the CPLP.
