On December 4th and 6th, took place the formative action for the clinical staff of the already more than 45 clinics of the OralMED SAÚDE Group. The medical training brought together dentists from all over the country in two moments, in Porto and Lisbon, to allow the participation of a larger number of physicians.
In order to update and optimize the surgical treatment protocols practiced by the OralMED Dental Medicine clinics, the training was given by Nuno Cintra, an expert in oral surgery. “I see continuing education as essential to keeping us updated and a fundamental part of our professional and personal evolution. Clinical practice does not replace the need for constant learning. Sharing knowledge among colleagues will value us all and consequently improve the quality of our patient’s treatment.”
A vision that is shared by dentists that participate in this training and that see in this initiatives an opportunity for professional growth. “I think it was an important moment to update our knowledge, to recall some basic concepts, that are fundamental for our clinical practice. Especially in such a big group, this moments are important to standardize some surgical procedures and to increase good practice, so we all can give the best to each patient”, explained Rita Gouveia. Pedro Melo added that “dental medicine is in constant evolution. There’s always new techniques, new materials and new approaches that will ease our work. (…) This was the first training I saw from the Academy for surgery, and as soon as they opened applications, I didn’t even think twice”. For Tânia Cabrita, “it is essential to be always updated. Learning is never too much. Although we do this work every single day, there’s always something, a small detail, that can make the procedure easier for us as dentists. And that can be beneficial for the patient”.
In the path of innovation and pedagogy, the OralMED Academy is already preparing numerous news features for 2020, including the opening of a School Clinic equipped with advanced technology that will be, for now, the only model in our country.
