We spoke with dentist Ana Sofia Lopes about Sorrir à ONDA, a humanitarian association that she created together with colleague Joana dos Reis Ferreira. The purpose of this union is to support dentists who are in difficulty, especially after the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
She emphasises that “dentists are a very sensitive group and unite in times of crisis. And when we discovered that there were dentists and oral health professionals already using the Food Bank Against Hunger, we were shocked and worried. Therefore, myself and a colleague, Joana dos Reis Ferreira, we didn’t hesitate in forming a humanitarian association on that very night”. Ana Sofia Lopes also highlighted the initiatives that Sorrir à ONDA is already developing.
“We are organizing a webinar in solidarity with big names in the dentistry industry. Each participant will be able to contribute a minimum amount of five euros, entirely going to this humanitarian association”. Another initiative orchestrated by Sorrir à ONDA is the online show, on July 1st, starring Pedro Abrunhosa, who “will serve as a pennant to explain that we are not well! Broadcasted and organised by the new CliveOn platform, the concert will take place at Hard Club, in Porto, and 130 people will be given access. Tickets to watch on the CliveOn platform will cost two euros, accessible to everyone.
