The company Medika MCN Tecnologia Medicinal S.A based in Santa Maria da Feria, Portugal, celebrated their five-year anniversary on the 6th of July. The company was created in 2016 by engineer Nuno Vasco Pinho Andrade, Medika says “it is a reference in health technology, continuously contributing to the improvement of care health.”
With setups in Angola, Bissau, Freetown (Sierra Leon) and Turkey, Medika provides healthcare solutions tailored to the needs of institutions, in 57 intervention areas ranging from ophthalmology to forensic medicine, or thoracic surgery. At the moment they are also focusing on dentistry, nuclear medicine, heart surgery and imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT scans.)
Agreeing with Nuno Andrade, Medika was thinking about health, hence the focus on various specialities. The company has adopted a philosophy orientated around the client, “finding the best solutions for their specific needs.” It provides the means for laboratory and hospital diagnosis and ensures customer assistance and training “in order to guarantee continuous improvement in the quality of products and services.” It also carries out specialised hospital engineering and management projects, “key in hand”, with equipment, technology and software from international brands.
Talking about the future, Nuno Andrade says that its important “to invest in various skills, building on past gains, investing in the growth of the company, in sustainability and putting the right people to work.” As well as this, the company director mentioned that they are betting on the area of reconditioned materials, taking advantage of old hospital equipment that was replaced with the pandemic to improve it and make it reach countries that do not have great financial capacity.
