EuroPerio10 announces European guideline regarding periodontal diseases

The first European guideline for the treatment of advanced periodontitis (stage IV) has just been published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology (1), the official publication of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).

Approximately 1.1 billion people worldwide had severe periodontitis (stages III and IV) in 2019, making it the most common chronic non-communicable inflammatory disease. This guideline focuses on stage IV periodontitis, which is the most advanced stage.

EFP organises EuroPerio as well as other important professional and specialised events such as Perio Master Clinic and Perio Workshop.
