DentalPro 174

The protagonist of our last cover of the year is Luís Valadares, a dentist with over two decades of experience and a trainer in the field of photography. In a conversation with DentalPro, he talks about his journey and shows us the benefits of imagery in dentistry. “Photography is essential not only as a means of diagnosis but also as a method of planning clinical treatments and, sometimes, even as legal and/or forensic evidence, in addition to other practical applications. It serves for the dentist to analyze and evaluate the work they do, for communication with patients and colleagues, as well as for academic advancement.”

In this edition, we also highlight the demonstration led by the Portuguese Dentists Union (SMD) in front of the Assembly of the Republic. Not even the heavy rain that fell throughout the country on October 19th kept professionals away from the protest. João Neto, president of the SMD, stated that the balance was “the best” since “colleagues were completely unambiguous in the cry of courage to change direction,” and the objectives of the demonstration were achieved.

You can also read the interview given by La Salete Alves about the book she wrote: “Curvatura da Vida – Estratégias de Longevidade” (Curvature of Life – Longevity Strategies). With this book, the dentist aims to “inspire and motivate the reader on the path to longevity, through a set of strategies that take them to another level and reverse the aging process.”
