Smile.up Innovation Center opens in Gondomar

Innovation in dentistry begins long before clinical intervention. It was with this vision that Smile.up inaugurated its Innovation Center in S. Pedro da Cova, Gondomar. “This new space, dedicated to digital planning and laboratory production, was developed to integrate state-of-the-art technology, artificial intelligence and a fully digital workflow.”

On 2 September, the Smile.up Innovation Center was officially inaugurated, a space dedicated to the digital production of dental prostheses that promises to redefine how laboratories and clinics work together.

The ceremony, which brought together the Smile.up team and staff, representatives of the local political community, commercial partners and suppliers, marked the culmination of two years of work and of a vision that began long before that. The DentalPro team was also present at the event, which included a guided tour of the new facilities, and witnessed first-hand the ambitious project whose main driving force was Pedro Marques, a dental prosthetics technician and coordinator of Smile.up’s laboratory network.

An idea that has been a long time in the making

The road to the opening of the new center goes back about six years, when the laboratory project started with teams of just one or two technicians at the Smile.up clinic in Gondomar. Since then, the path has been one of consistent growth: more than 3,000 surgeries, more than 6,000 jobs carried out and more than 5,000 patients have already benefited, directly or indirectly, from this service.
