Where did the idea of writing the book “Frederica Goes to the Dentist” come from?
The question I have been asked the most since the announcement of the publishing of the book: “Where did the idea of writing this book come from? Why write something? Why this book?”. I remember that it was on one day, in August, I was sitting at the table with my grandfather, and in the conversation, I expressed my interest in writing something to him.
I don’t think the fact that I wanted to write came as a surprise to him because, ever since I was a little girl, I was considered to be the little writer of the family, a writer of postcards, greetings, Christmas and birthday messages, they always thought I was made for it!
In reality, what surprised him was: But write about what? How? For whom? After consolidating ideas, it was important to me to write about something that was close to me, related to a lived experience and, at the same time, related to my profession, to my daily clinical practice”.
