João Pimenta at the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry
João Pimenta has just joined the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry (AcBO – Academia Brasileira de Odontologia), chaired by Mario Groisman. The Portuguese dentist will be sworn in as an Honorary Academic, thus becoming part of the AcBO Academic Board.
Portuguese dentist contributes to the drafting of ASCO guidelines
The dentist Rui Amaral Mendes is part of the team of experts responsible for writing the guidelines “Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw”, recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. This is the first time that a Portuguese dentist has been involved in the creation of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) guidelines.

Madeira: dentists will have a career in the public health service
The Regional Secretary of Health of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), Pedro Ramos, recently announced the creation of a public service career in dentistry. The decision was made known during an audience with the surgeon general of the Order of Dentists (OMD), Orlando Monteiro da Silva, and the representative of the OMD Board of Directors in the RAM, Gil Fernandes Alves.
