The representative from Madeira at the Directive Council for the Portuguese Order of Dentists Gil Fernandes Alves, manifested the need to implement the Program of Early Intervention for Oral Cancer, which is already in place in continental Portugal.

Several Portuguese public and private organizations have signed protocols which will allow for the inmates of the Izeda Prison Establishment, to benefit from dental services within the prison itself.

On the 15th of February was performed the first sialoendoscopy at the Casa de Saúde da Boavista, the first also in the Northern Region of Portugal.
