Anabela Peres de Sousa will be one of the speakers at the 1st International Healthy Aging Summit (IHAS). With several speakers representing other areas of healthcare, the dentist will present the topic of Chronic Oral Pathology vs. Systematic Diseases.
“When we talk about healthy ageing, we want to understand the human body as a whole and practice medicine in such a way that it can be kept in balance, in homeostasis”, states the summary of her speech.
In relation to the importance of the event in question for the class of dentists, Anabela Peres de Sousa told DentalPro that, “it is pure ignorance that the true biological dental medicine is ‘feared’ to combat the normal orthodox approach. This is the first time in Portugal that a medical congress has called for dental medicine to participate at a level of respect and equality. I think this is also a point to be proudly shared with the class”.
The dentist – who has been trained in Germany, Switzerland and Brazil, and who is in charge of opening the first biological dental clinic in Portugal – said she that is sure, “the theme will have the importance it inevitably needs when ignorance is replaced by reassurance that this is an approach ensuring that every dentist feels happy, fulfilled and revitalised in their passion for working with patients and humanity”.
The event will take place at the Palácio Estoril Hotel on 29th and 30th March 2019.
