Miguel Pavão is the new president of the OMD
Miguel Pavão, who headed the A list in the elections for the Portuguese Dentists Association (OMD), is the new president of the class, having won with 3462 votes. The ballot took place on Saturday, the 27thof June, and counted 4748 dentists taking part, amongst them 95 voted blank and 40 votes were considered null. The abstention rate exceeded 50%.

Dental clinics could reopen, but with many rules
The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) recently revealed what measures should be taken in primary health care clinics, offices, or oral health services in the public and private sector in the deconfinement phase. In fact, the document issued by the DGS, which takes effect on May 4, provides for “additional measures that must be taken to ensure that the transmission of this virus is minimized.
Orlando Monteiro da Silva will not run again for presidency
The president of the Portuguese Dentist Association (OMD), Orlando Monteiro da Silva, announced yesterday that he will not stand again in the next elections. The decision follows the announcement of the postponement of the election previously scheduled for June, now set for the 12thof September.
